Hand-knotted wool rug with bamboo silk

The carpet from our Damask collection is a hand-knotted carpet in a combination of New Zealand wool and bamboo silk on a cotton warp. Bamboo silk is obtained from bamboo stalks, so the carpet is a 100% natural product. The carpet is finished on two sides with cotton fringes, which are dyed in a tea bath, in the so-called antique finish. The name of the carpet is derived from the so-called damask pattern, which originated in distant China and was imported to Europe in the 14th century. The height of the wool pile of the carpet is up to 15 mm, so the carpet is suitable for interiors with underfloor heating. The carpet was hand-woven in the vicinity of the Indian city of Bhadohi
